Reach for the Stars, the Education and Outreach arm of the GBO, is creating educational materials and trainings that will be available in the Great Basin region. You may travel from outside the region to participate in trainings.
In 2019, we will be developing “Star Box” teacher kits. These kits will come complete with 6-10 interactive activities that will be ready to use in your classroom, fit with classroom standard curriculums, and be a fun and easy way to introduce astronomy, STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) and conservation concepts.
“Star Box” teacher kits will be leveled for
- kindergarten through 3rd grade educators
- 4th - 5th grade educators and
- 6th - 8th grade educators
If you are interested in attending the training, please fill in the request form and we will contact you with more information when training dates become available. “Star Box” teacher kits will be available for check out in White Pine County, Nevada and Millard County, Utah. Box kits are free to check out. Participating in a training on how to use the kit in your classroom is optional. You will have all the instructions for use with-in the box.
